Fourth mezzanine lift for Self Store It marks new development for Transdek

Transdek UK has supplied its fourth mezzanine floor lift for Self Store It to support the growth of the Midlands-based self storage company.

The first company to develop a purpose built self storage facility in the Midlands in 1995, Self Store It now has eight centres across the region and in East Anglia, and plans further expansion for 2016 and beyond.

The lift for Self Store It includes new design features as standard on Transdek’s 2016 range of mezzanine floor lifts, with the Yorkshire-based manufacturer investing in product development to make them more robust, effective and versatile for operators.

Martin Aldous, General Manager at Self Store It, said: “We’ve had four mezzanine floor lifts installed at our sites by Transdek and are delighted with them. The lifts are quick to fit, easy to operate and very reliable, with a range of built in safety features.

“Our decision to move to Transdek was based on a combination of factors, including cost and the quality of their mezzanine lifts. We’ve been consistently impressed not only with their products, but also with the professionalism of the company’s installation teams and after sales support.”

The main changes to the 2016 lift models include a new ram box design, software updates and improved operator controls as standard on every machine.

Leon Butler, Sales Director at Transdek, said: “We are always looking at ways to enhance operational efficiency and incorporate new features that make our proven mezzanine lift design more flexible for our varied customer base.

“As well as ensuring our lifts always meet the highest safety standards, we engineer our products so that they deliver reliable solutions on a day-in, day-out basis. All our equipment undergoes thorough quality control checks before leaving our Harworth factory and is installed by fully trained Transdek engineers.”

Transdek’s mezzanine floor lifts are designed to carry up to one tonne U.D.L which makes them ideally suited to the lifting of medium to light weight, or bulky, products. An ultra slim lift deck enables the lift platform to lower flush with the floor at ground level, allowing easy access for pallets and trolleys for quick and easy loading.

In addition to the expanding self-storage market, Transdek has supplied its mezzanine lifts to a diverse range of industry sectors, including luxury boat manufacturers, print companies, furniture makers, car parts suppliers, the NHS, and some of the UK’s leading retailers.

With the main aim of providing flexible solutions to enhance operational efficiencies, Transdek’s team of experienced surveyors work in partnership with customers and architects to deliver solutions to improve site productivity, storage potential and overcome space restrictions.
