Large-platform mezzanine lifts at distribution centres
DFS is the UK’s leading retailer of living room and upholstered furniture with over 120 stores in its retail estate covering the UK, Ireland, Spain and the Netherlands.
DFS asked Transdek to design a goods lift to service new mezzanine floor levels in their regional distribution centres, which provide 20,000 sq. ft of additional storage capacity for 440 furniture racks. DFS required a bespoke lift platform suited to carrying three sofa racks at a time.
Transdek developed a customized mezzanine lift solution with a 3m x 3m platform to accommodate DFS’ large furniture racks. Four lifts were installed at DFS’ Glasgow and Belfast DC’s. Each lift has a 750kg SWL and is engineered for 24/7 heavy-duty warehouse operation.
