At the core of our mezzanine lift designs
From the design and build of our mezzanine lifts to the performance of our onsite installation teams, health and safety is at the core of everything we do.
All of our mezzanine lifts are CE plated and built in compliance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and all relevant UK and EU standards as a minimum standard.
Failsafe RFID electrical interlocks are fitted on our latest lift gates as standard, along with electrically and mechanically interlocked safety locks. The inner lift car also has a mechanical locking mechanism and is lined with either ply or aluminium to avoid extrusions.
The lift platforms themselves are produced with a rigged steel box section frame with anti-slip flooring. Our standard mezzanine lift shafts are clad in 10G 50mm x 50mm galvanised mesh, and 6mm durbar plate is used for our access ramps (for surface-mounted installs).
We are proud of the safety record of our mezzanine lifts and continue to invest in ongoing development work to ensure you get the best possible quality and safety for your money.
Transdek’s mezzanine goods lifts offer a safe, reliable and efficient means to move products to and from mezzanine floors. At most sites, the alternatives are to either use forklifts or to manually handle items up and down stairs – both of which can represent greater potential safety hazards.
2017/18 HSE statistics show that falls from height and being struck by a moving vehicle were the two highest causes of fatal injuries in the UK workplace, accounting for 61 deaths. Over the same period, 21% of the 555,000 reported non-fatal injuries resulted from handling, lifting or carrying.
Unlike with forklift or manual handling operations, mezzanine floor lifts are ‘sealed’ in to the safety railings around the edge of the mezzanine area, allowing no space for either products or personnel to fall.
They can also eliminate or minimise the need for moving vehicles – which can significantly cut operating costs, as well as adding more flexibility.
Transdek has been SafeContractor accredited since 2010 and is also an ISO 9001:2015 certified company. All our installation engineers are CSCS certified and trained to pay continuous and careful attention to health and safety on site.
We have previously won the BITA/IMHX Design4Safety Automation Award in recognition of the high safety standards of our product designs. And, as part of our ongoing investment in continuous product development, we have also won the Queens Award for Enterprise: Innovation three times.
Most important to us, though, is what you, our customers, think of our mezzanine lifts. We are proud to say that we receive almost universally positive feedback.
